PERSONNEL MANAGER:

As a Navy Nuclear Trained Senior Chief Electricians Mate, coordinated and directed the production efforts of both senior and junior technicians responsible for the maintenance and repair of a wide range of electrical power generation, conversion, storage, and control equipment. Evaluated personnel performance, directed administrative functions, and supervised operations, maintenance, and training teams through complex engineering exercises.

OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR:

As Engineering Officer of the Watch, coordinated the actions of all watch standers in the safe and efficient operation of a nuclear powered steam plant and associated turbines, propulsion train, feed and condensate systems, and integrated electrical distribution systems during reactor startup, shutdown, normal operations, special tests, and a refueling overhaul.

ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST:

As a Work Center Supervisor and Quality Assurance Supervisor, was responsible for troubleshooting and repairing turbine generators, AC and DC motors, motor controllers, switchboards, 60 Hz and 400 Hz motor generators, lighting systems, indicating systems, transformers, circuit breakers, bus transfer devices, voltage regulators, storage batteries, electrical components of hydraulic and mechanical power units, and electrical monitoring equipment. Generated detailed troubleshooting guides and repair procedures, initiated work quality inspections, and created work process improvement procedures.

TRAINING SPECIALIST:

As a Master Training Specialist and Prototype Instructor, trained junior officers and enlisted personnel in plant supervision, operations, and maintenance in both classroom and shipboard environments. Initiated and oversaw the production of a comprehensive divisional curriculum plan that upgraded existing programs, developed new training guidelines, and integrated an extensive interactive computer based training program. Managed ship-wide training requirements positively impacting mission readiness.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

Awarded two Navy Commendation Medals and one Navy Achievement Medal for technical, educational, and managerial accomplishments. Twice selected as Sailor of the Quarter.
